connect the fonera to your pc
give your pc 169.254.255.2
surf to 169.254.255.1
check the managment panel of the fonera
now press the reset button for 20seconds
leave the button for 5seconds and notice THEN 2 leds are not running anymore for a few seconds
wait for 2 minutes
refresh website/server
it should now show an older version
now perform the kolofonium configuration
power down
reconnect to the internet
power up
wait for 10 minutes
visit myplace and verify successfull freewlan installation
Kolofonium hack:
This whole procedure sounds quite complicated, and it quite was compared to our earlier hacks. But the good news is that you won't have to do the same things again: If you want to gain access to your La Fonera, simply set the DNS server of your La Fonera to the IP address "88.198.165.155", belonging to the host "kolofonium.datenbruch.de". I did setup a small DNS service there that redirects requests to "radius01.fon.com" to a fake RADIUS server that will supply your router with the configuration data needed to enable SSH access.
Once you reboot your device, the SSH daemon should be started automatically. You can access the service through the internal WLAN, otherwise the packet filter will prevent the access to it.
After you enabled SSH permanently, don't forget to reset the DNS configuration - and don't forget to have fun with your new open device as well.
So far, 12100 fonera devices have been freed by kolofonium (See chart). For this statistic, the mac and ip address of every fonera using the kolofonium service is written to a logfile.
